Privacy Policy

MyWarranty is built around a simple rule: your receipts, warranties, and photos belong to you. We collect as little as possible and store what we must collect in a form we cannot read.
What stays on your device
Everything you capture — photos, OCR text, extracted fields, and warranty dates — lives inside an encrypted SQLite database on your phone. The encryption key is generated on first launch and never leaves your device. We never see its contents.
Optional cloud sync (Pro)
If you enable cloud sync, we store encrypted copies of your items and photos on our servers so they can sync across your devices. Encryption happens on your phone, using a key we never see. Our servers only store ciphertext; we can neither read your data nor recover it if you lose your encryption key and recovery code.
AI enrichment (Pro)
When you save an item, the OCR text (not the photo) is sent to our backend, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API for structured extraction. The OCR text is used to generate a response and is not used for model training. Anthropic's data handling is described at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Crash reporting
We use Sentry to record app crashes. A crash report contains a stack trace and the app build info — not any of your items or photos. You can opt out in Settings.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers.
- No third-party trackers.
- No contacts, location, or microphone data.
- No analytics on what items you save or when.
Subscriptions
Pro subscriptions are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat to verify receipts and detect trial periods. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app-user ID and the purchase event; it does not receive your email or real name.
Waitlist email
If you entered your email on this page, we stored it (lowercased) plus the day you signed up. We will email you once — when the app is available for download — and then delete your address.
Your rights
You can delete your app data at any time via Settings → Delete all. You can delete your cloud sync data by disabling sync in Settings. You can delete your waitlist email by emailing hello@mywarranty.medkitapp.cloud.
