Terms of Service

Last updated April 19, 2026

These are the terms that govern your use of the MyWarranty app and this website. By using MyWarranty, you agree to them.

What MyWarranty does

MyWarranty lets you photograph receipts, warranties, and product boxes; it extracts structured information on your device and reminds you before warranties expire. Some features are optional and only available with a Pro subscription (see pricing).

Accounts

MyWarranty does not require you to create an account. Your data is tied to a random install identifier stored on your phone. Cloud sync relies on your phone's keychain backup (iCloud Keychain on iOS, Google backup on Android) to move your encryption key to a new device.

Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and managed in their respective settings panels. You can cancel any time; your Pro features remain until the end of the paid period. Free trials convert automatically unless canceled before the trial ends. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their policies.

Your content

You retain all rights to the photos and items you capture. We process them only to provide the features you have enabled (OCR, optional AI enrichment, optional cloud sync). We do not claim any ownership over your content.

Acceptable use

Don't upload illegal material, try to compromise our backend, or abuse the AI enrichment endpoint (we rate-limit and will revoke install tokens that are clearly automated or malicious).

Warranty suggestions

The warranty URL suggestion feature is a best-effort guess from the LLM based on your photo and any scanned QR code. It is labeled “Best guess” in the app and should be verified before relying on it. A verified lookup is on the roadmap for a future update.

Warranty (the legal kind)

MyWarranty is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee — the authority on your warranty period is always the manufacturer. We'll do our best to avoid bugs, but we aren't liable for expired warranties you missed because of an app error.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the app release notes.
